Hi, I’m Paul
I started carpet cleaning in 2004. Like most people in this trade, I was good at cleaning carpets but had a lot to learn about running a business.
I still clean carpets part-time, and I spend the rest of my time helping other carpet cleaners avoid the mistakes I made.
I Went Bust in 2010
It was the hardest lesson of my working life, and it taught me three things I’ve built everything on since:
1 – Profit isn’t a dirty word. It pays you, keeps the van on the road and gets you through the quiet months.
2 – Not every customer is right for your business. Choosing the work you want makes pricing and marketing far easier.
3 – Being busy isn’t the same as doing well. You can have hundreds of happy customers and still struggle to make money.
